Prior to Kbuild, $(TOPDIR) or $(SRCTREE) was used for
pointing to the top of source directory.
(No difference between the two.)
In Kbuild style, $(srctree) is used for instead.
This commit renames SRCTREE to srctree and deletes the
defition of SRCTREE.
Note that SRCTREE in scripts/kernel-doc, scripts/docproc.c,
doc/DocBook/Makefile should be keep.

Now we are ready to switch over to real Kbuild.
This commit disables temporary scripts:
scripts/{Makefile.build.tmp, Makefile.host.tmp}
and enables real Kbuild scripts:
scripts/{Makefile.build,Makefile.host,Makefile.lib}.
This switch is triggered by the line in scripts/Kbuild.include
-build := -f $(if $(KBUILD_SRC),$(srctree)/)scripts/Makefile.build.tmp obj
+build := -f $(if $(KBUILD_SRC),$(srctree)/)scripts/Makefile.build obj
We need to adjust some build scripts for U-Boot.
But smaller amount of modification is preferable.
Additionally, we need to fix compiler flags which are
locally added or removed.
In Kbuild, it is not allowed to change CFLAGS locally.
Instead, ccflags-y, asflags-y, cppflags-y,
CFLAGS_$(basetarget).o, CFLAGS_REMOVE_$(basetarget).o
are prepared for that purpose.

This commit changes the working directory
where the build process occurs.
Before this commit, build process occurred under the source
tree for both in-tree and out-of-tree build.
That's why we needed to add $(obj) prefix to all generated
files in makefiles like follows:
$(obj)u-boot.bin: $(obj)u-boot
Here, $(obj) is empty for in-tree build, whereas it points
to the output directory for out-of-tree build.
And our old build system changes the current working directory
with "make -C <sub-dir>" syntax when descending into the
sub-directories.
On the other hand, Kbuild uses a different idea
to handle out-of-tree build and directory descending.
The build process of Kbuild always occurs under the output tree.
When "O=dir/to/store/output/files" is given, the build system
changes the current working directory to that directory and
restarts the make.
Kbuild uses "make -f $(srctree)/scripts/Makefile.build obj=<sub-dir>"
syntax for descending into sub-directories.
(We can write it like "make $(obj)=<sub-dir>" with a shorthand.)
This means the current working directory is always the top
of the output directory.

Refactor linker-generated array code so that symbols
which were previously linker-generated are now compiler-
generated. This causes relocation records of type
R_ARM_ABS32 to become R_ARM_RELATIVE, which makes
code which uses LGA able to run before relocation as
well as after.
Note: this affects more than ARM targets, as linker-
lists span possibly all target architectures, notably
PowerPC.

It's arch code and not a driver, so move it where it belongs. When it
originally went into drivers/misc there was no 8xxx CPU directory.
This will make new-SPL support a little easier since we can keep the CPU
stuff together and not need to pull stuff in from drivers/misc.

Commit 97b24d3d51 "common: Add symbol
handling for generic lists into Makefile" introduced build errors in many
nand_spl targets, complaining of a missing u-boot.lst. When not doing an
out-of-tree build, $(obj) expands to nothing, so GCC ended up being given
-I with no argument (or rather, -ansi was the argument). The failure
didn't show up during a -j1 build because it was picking up the non-SPL
version of u-boot.lst.

This patch adds essential components for generation of the contents of
the linker section that is used by the linker-generated array. All of
the contents is held in a separate file, u-boot.lst, which is generated
at runtime just before U-Boot is linked.
The purpose of this code is to especially generate the appropriate
boundary symbols around each subsection in the section carrying the
linker-generated arrays. Obviously, the interim linker code for actual
placement of the variables into the section is generated too. The
generated file, u-boot.lst, is included into u-boot.lds via the linker
INCLUDE directive in u-boot.lds .
Adjustments are made in the Makefile and spl/Makefile so that the
u-boot.lds and u-boot-spl.lds depend on their respective .lst files.

Commit 6dc1ece "Introduce a new linker flag LDFLAGS_FINAL" modified a
number of Makefiles in a way that broke out-of-tree builds. The
problem was that $(nandobj) was used before it got defined.

Divides variable of linker flags to LDFLAGS-u-boot and LDFLAGS
breaks the usage of --gc-section to build nand_spl. We still need linker option
--gc-section for every uboot image, not only the main one. LDFLAGS_FINAL passes
the --gc-sections to each uboot image.
To get the proper linker flags, we use LDFLAGS and LDFLAGS_FINAL to replace
PLATFORM_LDFLAGS in the Makefile of each nand_spl board.

Introduce a SPL specific CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE_SPL define to be used by
the linker. This has similiar semantics to CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE however
since SPL is a unqiue image we introduce a new variable to control its
text base address.

The change is currently needed to be able to remove the board
configuration scripting from the top level Makefile and replace it by
a simple, table driven script.
Moving this configuration setting into the "CONFIG_*" name space is
also desirable because it is needed if we ever should move forward to
a Kconfig driven configuration system.

As discussed on the list, move "arch/ppc" to "arch/powerpc" to
better match the Linux directory structure.
Please note that this patch also changes the "ppc" target in
MAKEALL to "powerpc" to match this new infrastructure. But "ppc"
is kept as an alias for now, to not break compatibility with
scripts using this name.

The CPUDIR variable points to the location of a target's CPU directory.
Currently, it is set to cpu/$CPU. However, using $CPUDIR will allow for
more flexibility in the future. It lays the groundwork for reorganizing
U-Boot's directory structure to support a layout such as:
arch/$ARCH/cpu/$CPU/* (architecture with multiple CPU types)
arch/$ARCH/cpu/* (architecture with one CPU type)

MPC8536E can support booting from NAND flash which uses the
image u-boot-nand.bin. This image contains two parts: a 4K
NAND loader and a main U-Boot image. The former is appended
to the latter to produce u-boot-nand.bin. The 4K NAND loader
includes the corresponding nand_spl directory, along with the
code twisted by CONFIG_NAND_SPL. The main U-Boot image just
like a general U-Boot image except the parts that included by
CONFIG_SYS_RAMBOOT.
When power on, eLBC will automatically load from bank 0 the
4K NAND loader into the FCM buffer RAM where CPU can execute
the boot code directly. In the first stage, the NAND loader
copies itself to RAM or L2SRAM to free up the FCM buffer RAM,
then loads the main image from NAND flash to RAM or L2SRAM
and boot from it.
This patch implements the NAND loader to load the main image
into L2SRAM, so the main image can configure the RAM by using
SPD EEPROM. In the first stage, the NAND loader copies itself
to the second to last 4K address space, and uses the last 4K
address space as the initial RAM for stack.
Obviously, the size of L2SRAM shouldn't be less than the size
of the image used. If so, the workaround is to generate another
image that includes the code to configure the RAM by SPD and
load it to L2SRAM first, then relocate the main image to RAM
to boot up.

Commit f62fb99941 fixed handling of all rodata sections by using a
wildcard combined with calls to ld's builtin functions SORT_BY_ALIGNMENT()
and SORT_BY_NAME(). Unfortunately these functions were only
introduced with biunutils version 2.16, so the modification broke
building with all tool chains using older binutils.
This patch makes it work again. This is done by omitting the use of
these functions for such old tool chains. This will result in
slightly larger target binaries, as the rodata sections are no longer
in optimal order alignment-wise which reauls in unused gaps, but the
effect was found to be insignificant - especially compared to the fact
that you cannot build U-Boot at all in the current state.
As ld seems to have no support for conditionals we run the linker
script through the C preprocessor which can be easily used to remove
the unwanted function calls.
Note that the C preprocessor must be run with the "-ansi" (or a
"-std=") option to make sure all the system-specific predefined
macros outside the reserved namespace are suppressed. Otherise, cpp
might for example substitute "powerpc" to "1", thus corrupting for
example "OUTPUT_ARCH(powerpc)" etc.

We load the secondary stage u-boot image from NAND to
system memory by nand_load, but we did not flush d-cache
to memory, nor invalidate i-cache before we jump to RAM.
When the system has cache enabled and the TLB/page attribute
of system memory is cacheable, it will cause issues.
- 83xx family is using the d-cache lock, so all of d-cache
access is cache-inhibited. so you can't see the issue.
- 85xx family is using d-cache, i-cache enable, partial
cache lock. you will see the issue.
This patch fixes the cache issue.

Note that with older board revisions, NAND boot may only work after a
power-on reset, and not after a warm reset. I don't have a newer board
to test on; if you have a board with a 33MHz crystal, please let me know
if it works after a warm reset.

Bamboo has a file sdram.c which needs special treatment when building in
separate directory. It has to be linked to build directory otherwise it is
not seen.

This patch adds NAND booting support for the AMCC Bamboo eval board.
Since the NAND-SPL boot image is limited to 4kbytes, this version
only supports the onboard 64MBytes of DDR. The DIMM modules can't be
supported, since the setup code for I2C DIMM autodetection and
configuration is too big for this NAND bootloader.

Using cpu/ppc4xx/speed.c to calculate the bus frequency is too big
for the 4k NAND boot image so define bus_frequency to 133MHz here
which is save for the refresh counter setup.

As provided by the AMCC applications team, this patch optimizes the
DDR2 setup for 166MHz bus speed. The values provided are also save
to use on a "normal" 133MHz PLB bus system. Only the refresh counter
setup has to be adjusted as done in this patch.
For this the NAND booting version had to include the "speed.c" file
from the cpu/ppc4xx directory. With this addition the NAND SPL image
will just fit into the 4kbytes of program space. gcc version 4.x as
provided with ELDK 4.x is needed to generate this optimized code.

This code will optimize the DDR2 controller setup on a board specific
basis.
Note: This code doesn't work right now on the NAND booting image for the
Sequoia board, since it doesn't fit into the 4kBytes for the SPL image.
