CONFIG_CONSOLE_CURSOR, CONFIG_SYS_CONSOLE_BLINK_COUNT and
CONFIG_CONSOLE_TIME are not used by any board. The implementation is not
great and stands in the way of a refactor of i8042. Drop these for now.
They can be re-introduced quite easily later, perhaps with driver-model
real-time-clock (RTC) support.
When reintroducing, it might be useful to make a few changes:
- Blink time would be more useful than blink count
- The confusing #ifdefs should be avoided
- The time functions should support driver model
- It would be best keyed off console_tstc() or some similar idle loop
rather than a particular input driver (i8042 in this case)

We have finished Generic Board conversion for ARM and PowerPC, i.e.
all the boards have been converted except OpenRISC, SuperH, SPARC,
which have not supported Generic Board framework yet.
Select SYS_GENERIC_BOARD in arch/Kconfig and delete all the macro
defines in include/configs/*.h.

We really don't want boards defining fixed MAC addresses in their config
so we just remove the option to set it in a fixed way. If you must have
a MAC address that was not provisioned, then use the random MAC address
functionality.

U-Boot on this board grew a long time ago past the 384 KiB that
it reserves for the U-Boot image, before the environment. Thus,
saveenv overwrites the U-Boot image and bricks the board.
I tried to find out when U-Boot grew beyond this point, but there is a
long stretch in the history where this board did not build -- and
AFAICT when it did fit in 384 KiB, it was missing vital features such
as fdt support. Turning off CONFIG_VIDEO was not enough to make it
fit. Thus, I don't think we have any choice other than to move the
environment.

The definitions for CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT are varied with little reason other
than to display the board name. Over half the definitions are "==> ", so
make this the default. The rest of the boards remain unchanged to avoid
breaking any external scripts expecting a certain prompt.

libata already has similar functions as implemented in the ahci code.
Refactor the code to use the libata variants and remove the dependency on
ata.h. Convert some defines to use the version from libata.h. Also, remove
some unnecessary memset's of bss data.
This is a step toward hopefully merging ahci.c and dw_ahsata.c which are
essentially the same driver.

The pci_indirect.c file is always compiled when
CONFIG_PCI is defined although the indirect PCI
bridge support is not needed by every board.
Introduce a new CONFIG_PCI_INDIRECT_BRIDGE
config option and only compile indirect PCI
bridge support if this options is enabled.
Also add the new option into the configuration
files of the boards which needs that.
Compile tested for powerpc, x86, arm and nds32.

We really shouldn't be overwriting bat registers with translation enabled,
especially when we're executing code using one of them for translating
the current instruction stream. Instead, disable address translation
while doing the final BAT setup.
In order to do this, setup_bats has to move back to asm code, because we
require translation to be enabled to have a stack for C code. The yucky
thing about that is that the assembler doesn't like ULL so we have to
switch to using HIGH/LOW pairs for physical addresses that are > 32 bits
in length.

controllers based on which PCIe controllers are enabled.

CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE has always been just a bad workarond for not
being able to use "sizeof(struct global_data)" in assembler files.
Recent experience has shown that manual synchronization is not
reliable enough. This patch renames CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE into
GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE which gets automatically generated by the
asm-offsets tool. In the result, all definitions of this value can be
deleted from the board config files. We have to make sure that all
files that reference such data include the new <asm-offsets.h> file.
No other changes have been done yet, but it is obvious that similar
changes / simplifications can be done for other, related macro
definitions as well.

CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_END was a misnomer as it suggests this might be
some end address; to make the meaning more clear we rename it into
CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_SIZE
No other code changes are performed in this patch, only minor editing
of white space (due to the changed length) and the comments was done,
where noticed.
Note that the code for the PATI and cmi_mpc5xx board configurations

Now that warm booting is not supported, there isn't a need for the
BOOTFLAG_COLD and BOOTFLAG_WARM defines, so remove them.
Note that this change makes the board info bd_bootflags field useless.
It will always be set to 0, but we leave it around so that we don't
break the board info structure that some OSes are expecting to be passed
from U-Boot.

Clean up Makefile, and drop a lot of the config.mk files on the way.
We now also automatically pick all boards that are listed in
boards.cfg (and with all configurations), so we can drop the redundant
entries from MAKEALL to avoid building these twice.

The change is currently needed to be able to remove the board
configuration scripting from the top level Makefile and replace it by
a simple, table driven script.
Moving this configuration setting into the "CONFIG_*" name space is
also desirable because it is needed if we ever should move forward to
a Kconfig driven configuration system.

After determining how much DDR is actually in the system, set DBAT0 and
IBAT0 accordingly. This ensures that the CPU won't attempt to access
(via speculation) addresses outside of actual memory.
On 86xx systems, DBAT0 and IBAT0 (the BATs for DDR) are initialized to 2GB
and kept that way. If the system has less than 2GB of memory (typical for
an MPC8610 HPCD), the CPU may attempt to access this memory during
speculation. The zlib code is notorious for generating such memory reads,
and indeed on the MPC8610, uncompressing the Linux kernel causes a machine
check (without this patch).
Currently we are limited to power of two sized DDR since we only use a
single bat. If a non-power of two size is used that is less than
CONFIG_MAX_MEM_MAPPED u-boot will crash.

The number of CPUs are getting detected dynamically by checking the
processor SVR value. Also removed CONFIG_NUM_CPUS references from all
the platforms with 85xx/86xx processors.
This can help to use the same u-boot image across the platforms.

The MPC8641HPCN board is capable of swizzling the upper address bit of
the NOR flash we boot out of which creates the concept of "virtual"
banks. This is useful in that we can flash a test of image of u-boot
and reset to one of the virtual banks while still maintaining a
working image in "bank 0".
The PIXIS FPGA exposes registers on LBC which we can use to determine
which "bank" we are booting out of (as well as setting which bank to
boot out of).

The KSEG1ADDR macro used to be necessary for the RTL8139 Ethernet
driver, but the code that used that macro was removed over a year
ago, so board configuration files no longer need to define it.
The _IO_BASE macro is also automatically defined to 0 if it isn't
already set, so there's no need to define that macro either in the
board configuration files.

We want the outbound PCI memory map to end at the 4G boundary so we
can maximize the amount of space available for inbound mappings if
we have large amounts of memory.
This matches the device tree setup in the kernel for the 36-bit physical
configs for the platforms that have one (MPC8641 HPCN & MPC8572 DS).

* Use CONFIG_MP instead of CONFIG_NUM_CPUS to match 85xx
* Introduce determine_mp_bootpg() helper. We'll need this to address a
bug introduced in v2009.03 with 86xx MP booting. We have to make sure
to reserve the region of memory used for the MP bootpg() so other
u-boot code doesn't use it.
* Added dummy versions of cpu_reset(), cpu_status() & cpu_release() to
allow cmd_mp.c to build and work. In the future we should look at
implementing all these functions. This could be common w/85xx if we
use spin tables on 86xx.

Update the 86xx reset sequence to try executing a board-specific reset
function. If the board-specific reset is not implemented or does not
succeed, then assert #HRESET_REQ. Using #HRESET_REQ is a more standard
reset procedure than the previous method and allows all board
peripherals to be reset if needed.

Now that the rest of u-boot can support it, change the PCI bus
address of the PCI MEM regions from 0x80000000 to 0xc0000000,
and use the same bus address for both PCI1 and PCI2. This will
maximize the amount of PCI address space left over to map RAM
on systems with large amounts of memory.
